What sort of life is that???

There’s a mistruth that afflicts our tribe’s culture of striving.

It’s that we must work ourselves ragged to achieve a lifestyle of security and comfort and then continue working slavishly to put aside enough so that we don’t have to work anymore.

It’s a lie and a trap.

Even if it were true, my challenge to you is - what’s the frickin point of ”life” like that??

I’ve been there. I fell prey to this for two decades, grinding endless hours in hospitals, countless nights in Marriotts, or innumerable miles on planes, trains, and automobiles. One persistent thought nagged my conscious and subconscious mind throughout - how much longer, how many more years must I do this?

When stuck in this trap, we seldom count the cost - the loss and deterioration of our health, joy, and relationships. We’re too busy grinding and striving.

Years slip away - gone forever.

And all of it just leaves us depleted and worn out. Tired. Hollowed out and ground down.

Listen, I’m not suggesting you quit your lucrative corporate gig or practice, grow a beard, and go live in a van down by the river.

But, if this strikes close to home, maybe you could reevaluate your priorities and reallocate some of your time. An hour a day reinvested in your health and relationships is a powerful investment that will not only pay off in retirement but pour over into every aspect of your life today.

Because…

There's a lot of good waiting for you on the other side of striving.
